There’s this. Just to be transparent- my beef is not that the friends are all white. That is for sure some people’s reality. Hell, A LOT of people’s experiences (no judgement and this goes across color lines). My beef is the monochromatic way they paint “gritty” NY or the fact that some high profile articles have called it “the voice of a generation”.

So I decided to go Vegan for Lent. I am not at all Catholic but I am ALWAYS down for a little fast for GOD. Plus I’m Baptist so I feel like I should be able to pick Christian traditions at will. Like a Chinese buffet…another Egg Roll please! (pork egg roll. YUM!)

Anywhoo, Lent is here and I dont think I ate quite enough red meat this weekend in preparation. Two bacon cheeseburgers, two hot dogs and countless bacon wrapped dates was just NOT enough. Poor.me.
