You know when you can feel someone TRYING as opposed to watching someone DO? Kelly is not a B list version of Beyonce for lack of talent. She just doesn’t have that THING. She wants it too bad. She is trying too hard. I can see her thinking.
That’s how I feel about The New Normal. When Modern Family takes on gay marriage it feels effortless, The New Normal feels like a What would you do? episode. Don’t get me wrong- I like the show! It’s super funny! But if the goal is to change minds and teach lessons (if its not then we have a problem Houston) maybe it needs to be a little more organic.
